Privacy Policy — covellains.com

Effective Date: September 16, 2026

This policy explains what personal information Covella Insurance Partners (“Covella,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects through covellains.com and in the course of providing insurance products and services, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

1. Introduction & Scope

Covella Insurance Partners (“Covella,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an independently owned insurance agency headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, licensed to sell commercial lines, personal lines, and group employee benefits in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit covellains.com or work with us to quote, place, or service insurance coverage; how we use and share it; and the choices available to you. It applies to covellains.com and to information we collect offline in the course of providing insurance and payroll-referral services. It does not apply to the separate privacy practices of insurance carriers, payroll partners, or other third parties we work with, or to third-party websites linked from our site.

By using covellains.com, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly, such as through our contact form, quote request forms, newsletter sign-up, or when you call, email, or work with an agent: name, email address, phone number, mailing address, business name and industry, and information relevant to underwriting a specific policy (which can include driver’s license and vehicle information, property details, payroll and employee information for group benefits, prior loss history, and, only when a specific line of coverage requires it, health or medical information relevant to underwriting).

Information collected automatically, when you browse covellains.com: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, and approximate location, typically through cookies and similar analytics technologies. See Section 4 for cookie details.

Information we receive from third parties, including insurance carriers, prior insurers, motor vehicle records, consumer reporting agencies (such as claims or credit-based insurance scoring where permitted by state law), and payroll service partners we refer clients to, to the extent needed to quote, bind, or service a policy.

We collect only what we need to provide insurance guidance, quote and place coverage, service existing policies, and operate our website.

3. How We Use and Share Your Information

We use personal information to:

  1. Respond to inquiries and provide quotes
  2. Place, bind, and service insurance policies and group benefits
  3. Communicate about coverage, renewals, claims, and account service
  4. Send newsletters, educational content, or marketing communications you’ve opted into
  5. Operate, secure, and improve covellains.com
  6. Meet legal, regulatory, and insurance-licensing obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only as needed to do the above, with:

  • Insurance carriers and underwriters, to obtain quotes and place or service your coverage
  • Service providers, such as our agency management system, payroll referral partners, IT and hosting providers, and email/marketing platforms, bound by confidentiality obligations
  • Regulators and law enforcement, when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights
  • A successor, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of agency assets
  • Anyone else, only with your consent

GLBA / NAIC privacy notice. As a licensed insurance producer, Covella is a “financial institution” under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and follows applicable state adoptions of the NAIC Insurance Information and Privacy Protection Model Act. We collect nonpublic personal information (as described in Section 2) to provide insurance products and services, and disclose it only to the parties listed above, or as otherwise permitted or required by law. Where sharing with a nonaffiliated third party would trigger a right to opt out under GLBA, we’ll provide that notice and honor your election. You may request a copy of our full GLBA privacy notice, or exercise any opt-out right, by contacting us using the information in Section 5.

4. Cookies, Your Choices, and Text/Phone Communications

Cookies & analytics. covellains.com uses cookies and similar technologies (such as Google Analytics) to understand site traffic and improve the experience. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not work as well. Where required, we’ll present a cookie consent banner before non-essential cookies load.

Your choices.

  • Marketing emails: every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can contact us directly.
  • GLBA opt-out: you may opt out of certain nonaffiliated third-party sharing as described in Section 3.
  • Access & correction: you can ask us to review, correct, or update the personal information we hold about you by contacting us.
  • Do Not Track: our site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
  • State privacy rights: depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to know, access, or delete personal information. Because the personal information we collect is largely governed by GLBA, much of it is exempt from general state privacy laws such as the CCPA; contact us and we’ll address any request based on the information involved.

Text messages & calls. If you provide a mobile number, we may contact you by phone, text, or email about your inquiry, quote, or policy. Where we send marketing texts or use an autodialer, we’ll obtain your prior express written consent first, as required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). Reply STOP to opt out of text messages at any time, or HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply.

5. Data Security, Retention & Other Important Information

Data security. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we recommend against sending sensitive information (such as Social Security or driver’s license numbers) through unencrypted email — call us instead.

Data retention. We retain personal information for as long as needed to service your policy, meet our legal and regulatory recordkeeping obligations, and resolve disputes, then securely dispose of it.

Children’s privacy. covellains.com is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Third-party links. Our site may link to carrier portals, payment processors, or other third-party sites. We don’t control those sites and this policy doesn’t apply to them; review their privacy policies separately.

Changes to this policy. We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will reflect the most recent revision, and material changes will be posted here.
